About Me

A Self-Taught Designer Fuelled by Curiosity and Passion

Hi, I’m Hriday A Creative Problem Solver. With a passion for design, I’ve spent years honing my skills in digital art, 3D modeling, and UI/UX. From freelancing to internships, I’ve developed a diverse portfolio by blending creativity and technology in innovative ways.

I’m always exploring new tools and techniques, driven by curiosity and a love for learning. Whether through self-taught skills or hands-on projects, I aim to solve real-world challenges and support others in the design community.

Growing Up Between Two Worlds

I was born and raised in Mumbai, enjoying a modern, urban lifetyle. However, my mother’s roots in rural Odisha gave me a glimpse of simpler living. Spending time in both places helped me learn to adapt to vastly different environments, giving me a unique perspective on life.

The Spark: My First Design Build

When I was 4, I built my first LEGO set, a LEGO Lighthouse, in just 5 days. Seeing how much I enjoyed it, my dad started getting me more sets. Later, we built the Star Wars Imperial Star Destroyer together over 3 months. This experience further deepened my love for building and design.

Building Robots and Exploring Creative Technology

I moved from LEGOs to more complex things, assembling a 4-foot-tall humanoid robot in just one day. I received many similar sets as birthday gifts, and I would eagerly start building them as soon as I got them. In 2nd grade, I joined a 7-level robotics program that used STEM principles, which further deepened my interest in robotics. I learned to build remote-controlled robots, autonomous machines, and even started coding in C to program complex robotic systems.

Combining Passion with Professional Growth

When I moved from the ICSE board to the IB board, I chose to pursue subjects like Design Technology, connecting my passion for design to academics. My dad recognized this passion and encouraged me to take it further. I enrolled in a Design Thinking Process course to structure my creativity. Through this course, I learned to apply design principles in real-world scenarios, blending my artistic vision with strategic, problem-solving skills. It gave me a new perspective on how to channel my creativity toward impactful and functional design solutions.

Diving into Real-World Experience

I interned at THEM Consulting, where I gained insights into UI/UX design in the BFSI sector, and explored customer-centric solutions. I also worked with Software Growth Partners, helping evaluate SaaS companies, and gained valuable business development experience. At Pepperfry, I learned about UX/UI benchmarking and product development, which sharpened my design thinking and multitasking abilities.

A Journey of Self-Improvement Through Fitness

I transformed my fitness and confidence during the pandemic, losing 7% of my body weight. Despite tough beginnings, I rebuilt my strength and mindset. Fitness now drives my discipline, resilience, and self-care, with friends calling me “Hulk” as a testament to my progress.

A Self-Taught Journey Through Music

Starting with the keyboard at age 10, I’ve learned guitar and djembe. After a COVID break, I reconnected with music, focusing on guitar theory and preparing for the Trinity exams. Music has been a creative outlet and a source of discipline in my life.

Event Organizer & Community Contributor

During the pandemic, I hosted live Roblox tutorials, teaching design and 3D modeling. As a junior event organizer, I supported new developers by offering free assets, fostering collaboration. This experience deepened my design skills and leadership within the community.

A Passion for Table Tennis

I’ve been playing table tennis for over five years, honing my skills through daily practice and local competitions. The sport has taught me focus, quick decision-making, and discipline. Beyond the physical challenge, it’s become a mental outlet, helping me stay sharp and energized. Table tennis is more than a hobby—it’s a key part of my daily routine and personal growth.
